The Generation X Files

This is going to be more of an update than anything else, but I have some exciting news to share (at least, I think it is! 😆).

Firstly, I hit a bit of a milestone this week. I officially reached 50 subscribers! 🎊🎉 (Okay, it’s 51 at the time of writing, but who’s counting?)

That is absolutely mental!

Especially considering I’ve gone AWOL for months at a time! Completely refused to succumb to the temptation of downloading then promoting myself on anti social media apps. Chose to go my own way – picking song titles for my posts instead of technically accurate (but utterly lacking in soul) “Search Engine Optimised” descriptions. But somehow, despite all that, you lovely lot still found me!

I started this adventure in November last year and my subscribers have really stuck by me. I want to thank every single person who has ever read, liked, commented, shared, or subscribed. Your support means the absolute world to me! 🌟

Which brings me to the big news. I’ve officially upgraded the site! You can now find me at my very own digital home: thegxfiles.com

It’s time to rip it up and start again.

The Generation X Files will now be wide open for everyone. And, best of all, I can finally start maximising what this site can do! I’m planning on introducing all the features I haven’t been able to use until now – including audio versions of my posts for those who prefer to listen. I’ll be rolling those out whenever time allows!

Now, before anyone panics: the content isn’t changing. You’re still getting the same old Citizen Jane. However, I do plan to do a massive overhaul, so things might look a bit different around here.

There will almost certainly be some teething problems while I get to grips with it all. In typical CJ fashion, I don’t have endless hours to spend reading “how-to” guides or watching tutorials. Instead, I shall blunder forward, pressing buttons and learning as I go. If the site suddenly turns neon pink or crashes entirely, you know why!

To be honest, the technical glitches might not even be the platform’s fault. I’m currently trying to redesign the layout while simultaneously fighting off two of our three cats – who seem to think my keyboard is a daybed.

The new domain name can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate, but it seems to be working. Teething troubles, stubborn ignorance of manuals (and feline interference) aside I’m incredibly excited about the future of the site!

Thanks for your continued support. It’s because of you, I want to make thegxfiles.com the very best that it can be. (And if all else fails, at least the upgrade gets rid of those pesky adverts!)
