I’ve had one of those weeks where it seems like all things technological are plotting together to drive me insane! I don’t know if it was spending too much time posing questions to AI but, I seem to have conjured up a ghost in my machine!
I have been trying to write my blog post on my phone but the screen keeps freezing. The phone is old and likes to write its own nonsense sentences which are often impossible to delete. The ‘Publish’ button is far too easily pressed and that’s too big a risk when I’m furiously stabbing at the screen trying to ‘wake’ it up! What if it’s better than what I was going to write though?……maybe I should do an experiment…. 😉
I have been having various problems with the thing so I reached out to my service provider via the stupid. blue bird, social media that used to be so helpful. I stupidly dipped my toe back into the waters there and it ended up with me almost being one of those people you read about that gets scammed!
I don’t know what I expected…I already wrote a post about how I feel about the place. I got drawn back in for a minute there but honestly, the whole thing has put me off for good this time. Why didn’t I just use trusty, old Reddit? I found the answers to my problems in less than a minute (and haven’t had to change all my passwords afterwards like I did after using the other one!).
Anyway, I don’t want to speak too soon but the thing I’m currently typing this on is behaving itself (I don’t want to jinx it!) so, at least I can do a post today!
Do you ever have those times when it feels like everything that can go wrong does in fact, all go wrong at the same time? I think those are the times it’s easiest to get overwhelmed!
It’s silly really to get so stressed over a phone. But, nowadays you forget how reliant you are on them for so many things. How essential it is to be connected to apps and various things for our ‘convenience’. It’s so difficult to do anything nowadays that doesn’t require being online and I find it increasingly frustrating.
I think that’s why it was so disappointing to reach out for help and instead someone tried to take advantage of my situation. If I’m honest it put me into a bit of a funk for a few days. One of those ‘disappointed with humanity’ moments that I have from time to time.
It doesn’t help that I’m not a winter person and we’ve just had a horrible storm and dark skies for days. I definitely require solar charging!
This morning, I woke up and the sun was shining! It was enough of a boost to chase away the clouds (from the sky and my gloomy mood!). Not enough to do any sky magic from the cell towers to my phone though!
As so often happens when I snap out of these little bouts of blues, I reminded myself how much I actually have to be happy about.
I am loved by the two most important people in my life and lucky enough to feel that every day. I have friends who are more like family. My three feline flatmates make me smile and laugh on a daily basis (as well as providing some much needed warmth on my feet right now!).
My health is better than it has been for as long as I can remember. My concerns that my psoriasis plaques might make a reappearance during the colder weather (and wearing extra layers) have so far been unfounded. I can’t tell you what a relief that is!
Come to think of it, it seems a little silly now if I’m honest. Getting so stressed over a phone and a bad experience on social media. It’s not exactly the end of the world!
Sometimes though, it’s the little things that spiral. Especially if you’re already feeling a little low. That’s when I sometimes forget to focus on all the good things I have and start dwelling on the negatives.
I need to remind myself that life is short and there’s no point wasting it on feeling miserable about things that I can’t change. It’s when I need to remind myself to ‘count my blessings’ I suppose. Refocus my brain to ‘positive thoughts’ again.
In short, it’s the best time to take the song from my title’s advice! I’m going to listen to it now and I’m sharing it below if you’d like to hear it too. 👇
Until next time, tech permitting!

p.s. Thanks for bearing with me during my ‘technical difficulties’! I’m having problems with comments and notifications but it seems a little better now.
