First of all I’d like to say thanks for taking time out of your life to read this, my first blog! I realise you have an enormous selection to choose from and appreciate that you’ve stopped on this one.
I’d like to start with a question. Do you feel free?
I don’t mean in the literal sense of not being in captivity. I mean are you free to live your life however you want? To say whatever you want? Do whatever you want?
If you can answer an unreserved yes to that question, congratulations you have cracked the code and I’d love to hear how you did it in the comments!
For most of us though, I suspect, it’s getting harder to answer that question on an almost daily basis.
As technology advances at lightning speed and we find ourselves on the brink of a new AI ushered Industrial Revolution, will we find ourselves living in the best of times or witness our own extinction?
I know, big questions right! And this is just my first post!
My intention with this blog is to spark conversation.
We live in a time where it has never been easier to connect with each other and yet, there is a male loneliness epidemic.
We’re chronically online but are becoming too socially awkward to communicate with each other directly.
People are going to prison for posts on social media. You might think they deserve it because they don’t share the same beliefs as you. Ok, but what happens when the people making the rules change them again and now your opinion is the wrong one?
And so, I ask again, do you feel free?
My honest answer is that I spent the first half of my life believing that I was.
In 2025 though, as a Gen X inhabitant of this planet we call Earth, it feels like we’re on the precipice of losing every bit of freedom we have left and it’s too late to stop it..
Too dramatic? I don’t think so and there’s billions of people out there so I betcha at least one other person agrees with me!
And if you disagree and think I sound like one of the tinfoil hat peeps, that’s cool too.
This world is crazy and I don’t believe anyone has all the answers. I just want us to go on a journey and try to figure some of it out along the way.
If nothing else we’ll have some laughs…….I’m told I’m pretty funny…..for a girl! 😉
