I think enough time has passed since I wrote Praise You to realise that you are all far too modest!

I’m not sure what went wrong…I was hoping you’d all promote yourselves in the comments section…but, crickets….

It’s time to start naming names myself!

In a good way of course 😉…

As you are unwilling to put yourselves in the frame, I’ll do it instead!! 🚨🔎🌟💻

The problem is, there are so many to choose from! I’m subscribed to quite a lot of blogs already and the list keeps growing!

What I think I’d like to do, going forward, is on a Sunday (which it is today thankfully!) I’ll choose two blogs to talk about.

I’m not sure how exactly yet. As usual, I’ll probably figure it out as I go along. You all know by now, I’m a seat of my pants kinda gal! (Suggestions welcome in the comments as always!)

For this first week, I’d like to start with two people who have been an essential part of my WordPress experience so far.

Their encouragement has been a driving force and helped shape this blog into what it’s become…so blame them if you don’t like it 😜

But more than that, I’ve been inspired by their writing.

I’ll start with, thisisasongabouttony

Tony was the first person to comment on my site and one of my first subscribers too!

We’ve had quite a few chats in each other’s comments sections and I always come away from them with a million thoughts.

Because, Tony always makes me think…and feel.

That’s what I love about his writing. It’s visceral and raw. Unapologetic and anything but apathetic.

While many are busy numbing their feelings and ignoring uncomfortable truths, Tony dives into them head first.

He shows us glimpses of the world without a filter.

It makes me think of that John Carpenter film, They Live…

Tony has made me realise that the sunglasses we wear are a teeny bit different. His show the world for what it really is, whereas mine… well, mine are perhaps a little more ‘rose-tinted’ 👓…

Just one of many things I have in common with my second recommendation, Covert Novelist.

Now, I’m a firm believer that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade…or, in this case, you write some incredible poetry about them! 🍋✍️

Covert Novelist usually keeps us guessing with beautifully written mysteries, but recently hit a roadblock that every writer fears – losing her work on the computer.

Instead of letting that stop her, she’s pivoted and has been sharing some wonderful poetry and other delights while she…recalibrates.

I’ve been so inspired by her resilience and creativity during this time!

It truly is incredible how this platform brings people together.

Covert Novelist actually reached out via my contact form and we’ve since become fast friends. A delightful plot twist I wasn’t expecting! 🎁🎉

Both Tony and Covert Novelist represent the very best of this community. Their writing style is very different but I find them equally…emotive.

Tony’s raw, unfiltered perspective challenges me to take off my rose-tinted glasses…even if it’s only temporarily.

Covert Novelist practices true alchemy, refining her technical constraints into pure poetic gold.
